Kwana

Kwana at sunset. It seems like just yesterday, he was a wobbly legged bay boy. He does still have those blue eyes.

Bounce

This image makes me wonder where he’s going and who’s going along with him. Maybe he’s on his way to meet a girl. He has a rakish look, doesn’t he? But he might want to consider a shower; there’s a bit of a smudge on his cheek. 🙂

Kestrel

Kestrel takes in the view, but from my perspective, she IS the view! She was first up the hill and scanned for potential danger(s) before the rest of the band followed.

Winona against Spring Creek canyon.

Do you think our wild horses sometimes pause to enjoy the beauty of the world around them? They’re inextricably entwined with that beauty, so much a part of it that the land would seem empty without their presence.

Peace is easily found in Spring Creek Basin, unlike in many other parts of the world. Today, especially, we wish for peace to touch people all around the globe.

Gaia

“And the dust raised by my ponies was smoke from my altar, offered up to God above. …

Bounce

“My ponies, sleek and dancing, were all a (wo)man would need. …

Hayden

“You may see me in the dust that shimmers in the half light or hear me in the whisper of the grass so green and tall.”

~ Dave Stamey, “The Vaquero Song”

I love this song, about masters of horsemanship, and also that it honors the horses of those vaqueros.

Cassidy Rain

Pretty Cassidy Rain is “another (beautiful!) bay mustang”! 🙂 Having a decided weakness for bays, I think she’s gorgeous!

Skywalker and S'aka

Shorty S’aka sneaks a peek from beneath pal Skywalker’s chin. How cute are they?
