We are LOVING the rain that finally is sweeping through southwestern Colorado. Grateful <– that’s us!
We have a little bit of everything in Disappointment Valley these days: a little mud, a little snow (outside Spring Creek Basin). We do have quite a little bit of green – and some of it is grass!
This spring rain has been exceptionally welcome. Comanche and his compadres certainly seem to be enjoying it!
You meet the cutest critters while wandering through Spring Creek Basin! This coyote critter was both curious and brave – more so than its sibling.
From first sighting – two pups playing outside the den – to the time I left was about three minutes. Whew – didn’t want to get between parents and babies!

For all you Houdini fans, the beauty girl herself. Wise and marvelous, Houdini is a grand ol’ dame of Spring Creek Basin. These elders show the youngsters the way of wild life and all it’s meant to be.

He is a grand old man of Spring Creek Basin. Oh, the stories he could tell about life on the wild range.
Great moisture news: We’ve received more good rain. We need saturating, puddling rain to fill our ponds, but the grass and other green bits are getting a delicious and reviving drink.

After our last little bit of rain, it has been windy. Before our next bit of rain (according to the weather gurus), it has been windy. We have some goooooood rain chances for the next few days!
