
Kestrel is another “old-timer” (though younger than Corazon), who doesn’t like to pose for the camera (or the camera-wielding woman), and frequently turns this gaze of curious confusion toward me. And sometimes I manage to catch it somewhat creatively. π
It’s hot again. And dry. And hot. And did I mention dry? And still smoky-hazy. Kestrel and her band have been hanging out in a far location of Spring Creek Basin where remains at least one (maybe two) water-(semi-)filled ponds. That’s a relief … but rain would bring more.
She is that – ” clearly beautiful.” I love the looks she gives you, TJ, a kind of “say what?” expression. I’m glad you are so quick draw McGraw with your camera and can catch her in beautiful moments! π₯°

Beautiful older gal! Hope you finally get some rain! We have smoke here in MI from the Canada fires! Not to great to be outside!
Ugh, I’m sorry ya’ll are STILL getting smoke from fires in Canada. Even when our air looks mostly clear, at the horizons, there’s haze from smoke. It’s not as bad now as it has been, but it sure shows the difference between our usually crystalline views and this weird haze. Always hoping for rain … none in the forecast. π¦ Hope ya’ll can get some rain soon β and Canada, too!?
