Rowan keeps an eye out for anything that’s *not right* while the band grazes among the rocks in the high northwestern part of Spring Creek Basin. This was a different area than where the horses normally are, and I liked the different look of it. There was a lot of chattering from, I think, pinyon jays, and I think that’s what caught her attention. … Either that, or another band over a bit of a ridge.
This is such a beautiful photo, TJ. The northwest end is always so pretty with its rock formations and abundant cedars. And what could be a better cherry on top than gorgeous Rowan!
Gorgeous Rowan, indeed. π I always love finding the horses up there because it’s so different … and the view is phenomenal!
It looks a lot more green in this area! Pretty gal adds to the scene!
Ha – that may be the sage … or maybe that’s winterfat. But there IS decent grass up in the hills. Thank goodness we have good vegetation, still, despite the dry conditions.
Look at that gorgeous, strong neck ! Curious how you knew where to find them way out in the NW corner ? Beautiful photo !
I actually some horses through a gap in the rimrocks above the canyon from the route heading toward the basin. … Then it’s just a matter of looking for the white dots (grey horses!). π
