Hi, Karel – I blanked out your phone number; you probably don’t want that out for the whole world? π Flash is just 6 this year. Not all pintos grey out; in fact, I’d guess most don’t – unless they’re born in Spring Creek Basin, where our dominant color is grey! Both his sire and dam are grey; his sire is a born-black-and-white pinto who’s now grey, and his grandma (sire’s dam) is a true black-and-white pinto. The “greying-out” process is individual to each horse, though most of our greys do so fairly slowly (over several to many years).
He’s sure holding onto these mares well. He had tried a few times previously but never could keep a band. … He’s come into his own. π I still think of them as “Flash and Storm’s mares” … but every day, I guess they become more his (in my mind; in his mind, they’ve always been his!). π
“Either way, we love Flash.” Yes! Yes, we do. π He still has a dark bit on the front of one leg, but it’s amazing to see how his spots have faded. Even close, they’re fairly hard to see now.
TJ how old is flash? I’m wondering how long it takes too lose your Pinto markings?
you can reply privately⦠thanks, Karel xxx xxx xxxx

He still is one handsome dude!
Yes, I’d certainly say he is. π His new mares, who mostly are grey (one sorrel), don’t seem to mind!
With his scars and all, heβs statuesque and stunning year after year ! So wonderful to see him up close !

Handsomeness in a new way. But I did love the unique markings of his old handsomeness! Either way, we love Flash.

He’s beautiful.
He’s one handsome dude, spotted or just grey.
