Love Tenaz. 🙂 We’re getting some sprinkles! Hope it’s enough to knock down any lightning-starts. … I’m not sure whether it’s as far north as the Nucla fire, though. …
There’s a fire up in the park (Kings Canyon NP). The entrance is about 30 minutes from my home. All evening the smell of a campfire hung thick in the air. This morning it’s not so bad
That smoke may make for interesting photos, but I can’t imagine the experience of living with fires right on your doorstep. We’ve had fires recently as close as Norwood (small, and now contained, I think) and Nucla (blew up fast – now almost 3,000 acres). I patrolled here a bit ago for smoke plumes, but fortunately, rain came hard on the heels of the strikes I saw! Stay safe!
Luckily this fire is burning away from civilization, I really feel for all the animals that call the forest their home.
Fire season seems to be getting worse each year. My kids are after me to move down to the valley since I’m all by myself now. I’m not ready to do that. I like my privacy, and the quiet. I’m in good health, but if that starts to go down hill maybe I’ll think about moving. 🙃

You’re right – it’s got to be terrifying for the wildlife in the forests that burn. I saw an uplifting story this morning about a cat, covered in slurry, that was rescued from one of the fire areas in Colorado (Quarry Fire? can’t remember). It has been reunited with its owner(s) and is doing fine. … I love the stories that sometimes come out of firefighters rescuing some critter.
I totally understand your love of your quiet and peace and privacy. 🙂 Live where you love. 🙂
Love this one!
He’s impressive against that sky, isn’t he? 🙂
Tenaz is a very handsome boy even as a silhouette in the setting sun. All the smoke makes for an interesting look, TJ. Kinda cool.

Smoky air made for a very nice photo of Tenaz

Really like this silhouette picture!
He makes a good, stout, handsome model – even in silhouette!
