Spring is here. Here’s the proof in the budding greasewood. ๐
I’m always happy when I see the greasewood budding again. It’s a good source of protein that the mustangs eat like ice cream. I equate it with warming weather, shedding coats and plumping ponies.
The fat little buds of spring!โIt’s so encouraging to see those signs of life again.โOne of the first things I notice here are swelling buds on the cottonwoods, and it’s beginning!โHarbingers of a new season. ๐
My apricot trees are starting to bud, too. All the glorious things to notice about life returning! ๐
The buds were poking out here too but then we got some really cold days – hope my flowers didnt get frosted.โThe robins got here just before the last cold spell.โThey always look so darned confused standing around in the snow!โIts warmed back up again – supposed to rain later today.
We were below freezing this morning – and had more snow. I can just picture your robins in the snow. ๐
Love it when the buds are coming out! Spring! A renewal of life for man and animal!
Though we need more moisture (always), I can’t help but be excited for spring. ๐
Spring may haveโsprung , but still cold enough for gloves ๐
Oh, yes, and more layers besides! I have not put away my gloves, headband, hat, silk wild rag, vests, coat, neck gaiter …โ;)
Ours is resisting…
Ha – I love that – the phrase, if not the resistance. ๐ I heard that southeastern Colorado got 8 inches of snow a couple of days ago! Resistance, for sure.
We got a lot of snow here in the valley. It didn’t last long, but maybe it was 8 inches.
It sounds perfect!!

Fattening up is a good thing for mustangs in the spring!
