These days seem to bring out the sleepies in horse and human alike. Way too warm. Way too dry.
Pretty, though. And if you’re a live-in-the-moment being like a mustang, you love it.
If you’re a worry-wort human who looks at the excruciating lack of snow and feels terrible anxiety for this coming summer (at least), you … are … well … terribly anxious.
Hoping Tuesday’s forecast rain/snow actually delivers some measurable moisture.
ππ€ moisture will be coming your way. I’m like you, I worry. Enjoy the beautiful moments like this photo, but scared for what will happen if the snow and rain don’t come.
We thank you for the atmospheric river over and across California, picking up that moist air! It definitely flows this way … and something about Disappointment Valley disappoints it right in its tracks! π Hoping!
I hope it delivers, too.
Hope some of it reaches farther east for ya’ll, too, Martha!
60 mph winds… sigh
Maybe (hopefully) that’s just the herald of wet weather coming. We had terrible winds last night (though I don’t think they were THAT strong!). …
Hoping for moisture! The picture made me yawn!
Ha – you want to just lie right down and take a nap with her, don’t you? π
had made plans to do hurry-scurry errand/shopping trip today, for my loved one – stayed home because extreme fire danger and I have tall stalks of last years plants still standing, to ‘catch the snow’ when it happens – instead of leaving the landscape soil barren and cleared and free to be ravaged by winter dryness/winds – sigh – thus, I am at home, and re-organizing all of next weeks long ago apts, deadlines, etc. because, if fire strikes, it’s no one’s fault but mine for not following ‘fall clean up’ list of things to ‘do’ by those who spend most of their monthly water allowance each month on running the dishwasher every day and watering their lawn – sigh – sigh – sigh
I saw a comment recently on the CoCoRaHS map by someone who lives near a cloud-seeding site. We need our clouds to pony up and drop some rain! Hope you get all your “prep” work done!
I am so mixed in opinion(s) on the whole ‘snow making/cloud seeding’ operations over decades for many, many reasons, overall – I was deeply impacted by reading the translated/written/published by ‘students’ of Masanobu Fukuoka (1913-2008) and so much share in those works, echo the core things known by those who were my local mentors/teachers, of my childhood. When it either wasn’t done, or not advertised! that we were messing around with weather patterns/needs – though, I also remember, too, the tales/songs an memories shared, by the folks who would drive into a Dust Bowl Town in the 1930s and ask for ‘money’ from those who had little, if any, with promises to make it rain – – sigh – Right around the SAME time, various true souls, who knew plants, new how to care and take a hand, in plants (no tech, other than their attempts) were also going around the same regions, saying “I’ll give you free seed, to plant – I really believe this is more drought hardy, and shorter/sturdier to survive high winds., etc. All I ask in return, is, will you save some of the crop seed, for me, to pickup and see how it has dealt with your local conditions, when I come back around, next year??”
It’s SO hard for me to let go of/forget all the ‘boots on the ground’ stuff, even while, newer stuff keeps showing up – with price tag, or none, at first or ever – attached – sigh!.
Thank you always, TJ for keeping me apprised of ‘conditions & news, over yonder” – π
I am so sad to hear with all the precipitation hitting the West Coast, it is totally missing your area.βPrayers that you get some good rain (or snow) soon.
It’s on the way. … We just hope it drops some much-needed moisture directly on our parched lands. The mountain people are happy, but if you’re not mountain tops, you’re dry out here!
I agree, TJβ- “way too dry.”βWhere in the world is that El Nino winter we were supposed to have? π
Yeah, right?! I thought it was supposed to be another good one. … I *think* I remember chopping ice earlier this winter … !?!? Ha. What happened??!!
