Gaia tries to pinpoint the sound of gunfire on the second-to-last evening of third rifle season. Thankfully, it seemed to be over a ridge and outside Spring Creek Basin. Also thankfully, the horses remained calm.

Yes, hunting is allowed and does occur. Spring Creek Basin Herd Management Area is public – BLM – land.
Glad the shot was not close. People don’t realize many times that hunting is allowed on the BLM Spring Creek Basin. Hunters must take care.
