These boys are ready for winter!
Breeze
Sage
Aren’t they handsome in their snazzy blankets?
Breeze and Sage were adopted by the I family and now live near Denver. They adopted Breeze in 2000 and Sage in 2007, and they have been big ambassadors of Spring Creek Basin mustangs ever since!

always love to see happy horses with good home and a job, way to repersent the mustangs!
Cute fellows. While they may enjoy their blankets, they don’t look so thrilled about the photo op.
These boys are awesome. I had the good fortune of going to see them shortly after the family adopted Sage. These boys are so incredibly loved! Each, in his own way, is so representative of our Spring Creek Basin herd. 🙂 Love them!
So great to see happy well cared for horses. Trained so well! Good work to those folks!
Ditto!
Is this “our” Sage?! If so, wasn’t he adopted along with Cuatro, Hannah and Briosa by someone named Dana from Ridgeway after the 2011 round-up????? What’s REALLY going on with the horses “adopted” after the round-up?!
This is the Spring Creek Sage that was adopted in 2007, the 2011 one was named after him. If Dana from Ridgeway has half the Sage that we’ve got, she’s got a wonderful horse.
Our other Sage was born in 2009 and was named by Lynn and Kathy, who didn’t know your Sage. 🙂 They were the first to see the little guy the day he was born!
Why are these mustangs wearing blankets?
Need not worry, only when it gets to single digits do we use blankets and that’s only at night.
We don’t want to hinder their natural abilities, but when it’s really cold a little warmth is welcomed.
Thanks for your concern:-)
Oh, we didn’t KNOW about the first “Sage” – sounds like he has a super home and, for that, we are very thankful to his “folks!”
