Yesterday, there was this:
Do you see what I see?!
Today, we had this!:
Baby boy – born today. 🙂
And by the way …
Happy birthday, beautiful girl!
That’s right – baby girl and baby brother share their birthday. 🙂 How cool is that?
« And the winner is …. Chipeta’s colt »
TOO CUTE!!! All spindley legs and knobby knees, but they’re going in the same direction on the first day. Wild horse foals never cease to amaze! Sharing a birthday is double happiness. Chipeta to awed onlooker, “THIS is how it’s done! Any questions?”
What a sweetie,I was hoping for a pinto, but the foal is beautiful in it’s own way.Do the little boy have a facial marking?Or white on his back legs?Actually when I see a newborn the first think I want to see is not the gender, but the white markings,I don’t know,I’m inlove with them 😀
Meanwhile,is he liver chestnut? I think he will grey out
My birthday is today too. What a luck
Linda – Yep, he’s a cutie for sure – and strong. Puzzle’s birthday is a guesstimate. I’ll have to look back in my notes to remember what day I actually found her. I still can’t quite believe she had him right on her due date!
Maria – He does have a big star with a thin trickle of a “strip” ever so slightly offset to the left side of center. At least a right hind fetlock … possibly left hind, too – maybe just covering his pastern on that side. No pinto spots. I was thinking almost liver chestnut, too, when I was there looking at him, but looking at the pix, he doesn’t seem as dark as I remember under the sunshine – and it’s definitely possible he will go grey. I love seeing the foals and their markings for the first time, too!
Happy birthday, Maria! 🙂 How cool!
Aww he sure is cute!! But I know of a someone who is even cuter!! Does she have a name yet?
So only one more to go yet right?
Ha. No name yet for Kootenai’s filly.
And yes, one more to go (that I know of!): Mona is due Sept. 15. I saw her both days but from a distance. She was easier to get close to before she joined Roja’s band! I’m going to try to get a closer look at her next week to see how she’s coming along.
