Who? Oh, you!

This little beauty is nearly as light as her mother is dark. She’s a year older than the baby girl on the right. I was a little shocked at their similarity in size. Two-year-old T is the same age as C there … but noticeably bigger.

I can’t get over how not only comfortable they are with each other but HOW close they seem. Because of weather, it had been two weeks between my visits instead of my usual one … a lot changes in a short period of time!

Have I wracked your brains long enough? πŸ™‚

Ignoring me as usual, my beloved silver boy, Grey/Traveler, and his band, which now includes …

Corona! (I didn’t realize until I cropped in on this how cocked her hip was, making her hips look so uneven!)

Interestingly, he’s watching Kreacher (his band is Corona’s former band – black and white pinto Raven is Corona’s mama), who was ahead on the road. All these photos were taken from my Jeep.

I could watch him forever …

Terra-girl. I don’t really have a photo that shows it – every time I noticed how much bigger she is than Corona, I was watching, camera slack in my hands. She’s an amazing girl with incredible genes!

And of course you want to see this darling girl – Deniz! Look how she’s changed! Lighter, “browner” – and look how big and stout! Notice the faint striping on her legs, too. I think I mentioned it with Juniper. I’ve seen it on most of Grey’s babies, I think, and some others, too. They eventually fade or become less noticeable as the babies grey out.

Grey and Houdini do have a knack for making beautiful babies together, don’t they? πŸ™‚

I’m happy to see Corona with Grey’s family. A lovely match!

TJ, thanks for the IDs and more beautiful photos. I recognized Terra in the last go round. Hard to miss her unique blaze. Beyond that, was totally stumped. And Deniz is really growing … such a pretty girl.

I wish I could search your site for specific names. Unless the posts are recent, all I get is Facebook central. Corona = mostly beer!

TJ – In the very first photo of this series, isn’t that Gemma with Corona?? We think the second photo is Terra on the right with Corona. Yes?? πŸ˜‰

Yep, in the first pic is yearling Gemma with Corona, and in the second, 2-year-old Terra is on the left (you can see Gemma’s nose behind Corona). I didn’t mean by the “T” under the first pic to ID Gemma … just that Terra and Corona are the same age, but Corona is noticeably smaller – closer to the size of yearling Gemma!

Just love your pictures. I am planning a trip out to you neck of the woods (Spring Creek Basin)sometime in June 2011. Where would be the best place to see your Spring Creek wild horses. I have been to all the herds in Utah and now would like to see other animals in Colorado, Wyoming and Nevada. I have been a fan of wild horses since I had a Sorrel with a flax main and tail in the early 50’s Caught fromthe Blawn Wash herd west of Minersville Utah.

I really enjoy you photographs of wild horses. I would like to come out to Spring Creek Basin to see your wild horseand was wondering if you would part with some information on n where I should go to see these magnificent animals. I would hate to drive 300 + miles and not see a wild horse.

I can see by your website and others I have a very long ways to go to let people know about the wild horses here in Utah. You and others do an outstanding job and I hope someday to start a website feturing the Wild Horses of Utah.

Thanks for listening.

Elden – I’ll email you with information about the basin. We have a small herd area, and a good chunk of it is accessible by roads – I’m sure you’ll see horses! The more good information we have about our wild horses, the better!
