Hook and his merry band of youngsters made a welcome appearance; I had been thinking about them on the way to the basin. Haven’t seen much of them this summer.
This was taken almost directly into the rising sun. Loved how he was backlit by that gorgeous light.

one of the lucky few still on the land..are his days numbered as well?
The days of all of us are numbered. There are enough blogs highlighting the doom (which needs to be exposed); this blog is to highlight the beauty of our wild horses, specifically those in one particular herd. Our group is working to ensure the long-term well-being of our Spring Creek Basin mustangs, don’t doubt that.
I enjoy each day of life and see many who do not choose to see the beauty. I am blessed to be able to keep in touch with the horses I get to see at least once a year through your blog. Thanks for going to the Area and sharing.
It makes a difference in how you see the world, and I think some people are blessed with a “glass half full” attitude and some may have to work a little harder at it, but it’s always worth it!
Hook has such a loving face and the lighting is beautiful! It seems that the word I use most on this site is beautiful :]
